PRIMARY CARE
Primary care doctor is a doctor who acts as a first point of consultation for all patients and also provides continuity of care. Primary care is also described as the medical care received on first contact with the medical system before being referred elsewhere if needed.
Primary care is that care provided by physicians specifically trained for and skilled in comprehensive first contact and continuing care for persons with any undiagnosed sign, symptom, or health concern (the “undifferentiated” patient) not limited by problem origin (biological, behavioral, or social), organ system, or diagnosis.
An Internal Medicine doctor can be a Primary Care Doctor as well as a Specialist who can diagnose and manage chronic diseases like Diabetes, Hypertension, COPD, Asthma, Thyroid Diseases and Arthritis among others. read more

PREVENTIVE MEDICAL CARE
At Kyrene Internal Medicine, we focus on Preventive medicine and practice this daily. Our doctors educate their patients on how they can participate in their own medical care
Preventive medicine or preventive care refers to measures taken to prevent illness or injury, rather than curing them.
Preventive medicine helps the patient by helping with early diagnosis and management of serious medical conditions. This helps to reduce cost of treatment thereby reducing overall healthcare costs of treating chronic diseases. read more

PHYSICALS
Physical examination or clinical examination is the process by which our doctors investigate the body of a patient for signs of disease. Your medical history, an account of the symptoms as experienced by the patient is taken initially followed by a physical exam and at times a few tests are ordered by the physician. Together with the medical history, the physical examination aids in determining the correct diagnosis and devising the treatment plan if needed.
In our office we perform these physicals among others:
* Annual or Preventive Physical
* Sports Physicals
* School Physicals
* Employment Physicals
* CDL Physicals
* Pre-operative Physicals

HEART AND CARDIAC SERVICES
We provide the following heart and cardiac services in our office.
* EKG / ECG
An EKG or ECG, also known as Electrocardiography is a non invasive, painless and simple recording produced by an electro cardiographic device. Electrocardiography is a transthoracic interpretation of the electrical activity of the heart over time captured and externally recorded by skin electrodes.
* Holter Monitor
Holter monitor also known as an ambulatory electrocardiography device is a portable device for continuously monitoring the electrical activity of the heart for 24 hours or more. Its extended recording period is sometimes useful for observing occasional cardiac arrhythmias that would be difficult to identify in a shorter period of time.
* Exercise Cardiac Stress Testing
A cardiac stress test is a medical test that indirectly reflects arterial blood flow to the heart during physical exercise. When compared to blood flow during rest, the test reflects imbalances of blood flow to the heart’s left ventricular muscle tissue, the part of the heart that performs the greatest amount of work pumping blood.
